Sell, Phyllis J. 'Jackie
Phyllis J. “Jackie” Sell, 90, a resident of Northbrook Manor, died there on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, after a long illness. Services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son, Cris (Judy) of Marion; four grandchildren, Lori Young, Brian Sell, Scott and John Christenson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Susan; one brother; and a sister, Barbara Engeldow.
Jackie was born on May 3, 1922, in Vinton, the daughter of Horace and Gertrude Dunham Rasley. She married Ray H. Sell on July 6, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. Ray died in 1994. Jackie was a receptionist at Iowa Manufacturing and retired from there after more than 20 year of service.
Jackie was member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church and several local card clubs. She enjoyed crafts, especially creating greeting cards and sewing. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice in Jackie's name.
