Bartosh, Melvin F. 'Tiny' 'Popcorn'
Melvin F. “Tiny” “Popcorn” Bartosh, 70, of Walford, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow at Hala Cemetery, near Walford, where military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel.
Melvin was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Walford, the son of Bert and Lucille (Schulte) Bartosh. He married Darlene M. Rettig on March 11, 1978, in Amana. Melvin worked for Amana Refrigeration from 1960 until his retirement in 2002. Melvin enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, traveling and watching sports.
Melvin is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Darlene; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Bartosh of Walford; and a sister Mary Sprinzel of Flagstaff, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Wesley Bartosh.
