Paulsen, Gary Wayne

Gary Wayne Paulsen, 56, of Cedar Rapids, passed away following a short battle with lung cancer on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of life will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Overlook Pavilion, Ellis Park. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his father, Norman Paulsen of Brayton, Iowa; children, Lindsay Paulsen, Jenna Paulsen and Gregory Tuttle, all of Cedar Rapids, and Jeremiah Paulsen of Des Moines; grandchildren, Nataliea, Jacelin, Anthony, Davion and Dacari; siblings, Steven (Sandi) Paulsen of Anita, Iowa, Debbie (Bob) Davis of Ankeny, Iowa, Pamela (Donald) Routh of Norwalk, Iowa, Laurie (Jeff) Morrissey of Norwalk, Iowa and Monty Paulsen of Brayton, Iowa; his dog, Mike; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; daughter, Jamie; and brother, Michael.

Gary was born June 10, 1957, in Atlantic, Iowa, son of Norman and Verda (Haszard) Paulsen. He worked in construction for 32 years. Gary loved boating, fishing and spending time with his grandkids and dogs.
