Heck, Darlene B.
Darlene B. Heck, 70, of 706 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Chuck Clark of Hoover Wesleyan Church, rural Walker, officiating. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Ron) Pease and Marlene Heck, both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Joseph Heck, Jasmine, Rebecca and Jade McGrew, Katie, Isaac and John Pease; a sister, Sandra Potter of Missouri; three brothers, Eugene (Jan) Gorsh, Kenneth Gorsh and Fred Gorsh, all of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Pamela Sue Heck; and sister, Sheila Serovy.
Darlene was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Cedar Rapids to Fred and Blanche Pollet Gorsh. She married Larry Heck on Nov. 20, 1959, in Hiawatha. He died April 18, 2002. She worked in assembly at Rockwell for over 25 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, garage sales, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.
