Dorn's funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, rural Mount Vernon. Dorn's visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. After a light lunch, Dorn is to be buried in the Lisbon Cemetery.

Preceding Dorn in death were his parents and wife, Karen.
Dorn was born Feb. 24, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Loren and Naomi (Fagen) Stewart. Dorn graduated from Martelle High School in 1959. He married Karen Booth on Dec. 14, 1963, in Cedar Rapids. She died May 27, 2006. Dorn farmed all of his life in the Linn-Jones county area, putting his heart and soul into the land he farmed. He was a leader in the farming community, helping other farmers in their time of need. Even after his retirement, he stayed active in farming.
As a boy, Dorn was involved in 4-H for several years showing ponies and later became a 4-H leader. He was instrumental in the rise of hot rod tractor pulling. Dorn enjoyed snowmobiling, kettle chicken cooks with family and friends, and traveling with his wife. Dorn enjoyed morning coffee and sharing the “news” at the Martelle C-Store.
Memorials in Dorn's honor may be sent to Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, 2000 Linn Grove Rd., Mount Vernon, IA 52314.
