Maring, Margaret Charlene
Margaret Charlene Maring, 78, a resident of Summit Pointe, Marion, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at her home. Per Margaret's wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa's Anatomical Research Program. A memorial service will take place at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa at a later date. Local arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace; her children, Randy (Cindy) Maring of Robins and Debra (Charles) Voigt of Stillwater, Okla.; six grandchildren, Miranda, Megan, Jason, Jon, Nikiah (Alex) and Jared; one great-granddaughter, Nadia; a brother, Richard (Mildred) of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Margaret was born Nov. 3, 1930, the daughter of Charles E. and Lillian M. (Lottridge) Haines, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She married Wallace Edwin Maring on March 26, 1949, in Ottumwa. She worked as a nurse's aide at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton. Margaret enjoyed camping, square dancing, and bridge playing. She also sang in the church choir, played the piano, and enjoyed flower gardening.
