Eggerling, Jeanetta M.
Jeanetta M. Eggerling, 100, of Williamsburg, Iowa, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, with Pastor Carl Cloeter officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, in the fellowship hall at St. Paul Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Kloster Funeral Home in Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
Jeanetta is survived by a daughter, Alice McCarthy (Leo) of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Donald (Glenda) of Ames, Arlen (Jan) of Pella and Arthur (Delores) of Delphi, Ind.; 10 grandchildren: Allen Dvorak (Sarah), Randy Dvorak (Sheri), Kristin Eggerling (Paul Blomquist), Lara Eggerling (Yasu Kobayashi), Kari Eggerling (Bob Cappello), Jennifer Eggerling-Boeck (Paul), Leisa Michmershuizen (Joe), Karen Meinders (Joel), Kevin Eggerling (Jenny) and Suzette Lisowski (Mike); 24 great-grandchildren: Erika, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Sarah Beth, Katherine, Josef, Caleb, Soren, Finn, Shaw, Sen, Renan, Karise, Marijka, Metje, Mariel, Miriam, Lila, Sylvia, Theodore, Nickolas, Olin, Jay and Savannah; and three stepgreat-grandchildren: Leah, Aaron and Lauryn. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Donna Beccard of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ella Beccard of Syracuse, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herold; her sister, Sylvia Eggerling; five brothers, Olin, Ralph, Vernon, Lyle and Lloyd Beccard; daughter-in-law, the Rev. Mary Eggerling; and son-in-law, Henry Dvorak.
Jeanetta Marie was born March 29, 1913, in Paul, Neb., the daughter of Fred Beccard and Johanna Griepenstroh Beccard. She received her education in the Syracuse, Neb., schools and married Herold H. Eggerling on Jan. 8, 1936, in Syracuse. The couple moved to Williamsburg in July 1947. Herold died Jan. 6, 2002.
Jeanetta was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She was employed as a seed technologist with Holden Foundation Seeds for over 50 years. She was involved in many aspects of seed research and was a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the Holden's team. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Jeanetta loved her garden, especially her flowers, and always had plenty of blooms to enjoy.
