Comley, Keith Douglas
Keith Douglas Comley, 73, of Central City, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at home. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at United Church of Christ in Central City. Inurnment will be at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.
Keith was born Aug. 19, 1940, the son of Glenn and Hazel (McCreary) Comley in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Central City High School in 1958. On Oct. 30, 1964, he married Lois Marie Lindley at United Church of Christ in Central City. He worked for Iowa Manufacturing for 37 years as a torch operator, retiring in 2002. He farmed his family farm his entire life until he became blind. His interest in his farm and farming continued until he passed away. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting toy tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; four children, Douglas (Edith) Comley of Ryan, Barbara Moore of Central City, Larry (Diane) Wells of Prairieburg and Steven Wells of Central City; five grandchildren, Bryan, Glenn, Casey, Theresa and Katherine; a brother, Kenneth of Central City; and a brother-in-law, Norman Lindley of Center Junction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife's parents; and brother-in-law, Harold.
