FREDERICK "FRED" KRUMM Hiawatha Frederick "Fred" Krumm, 82, of Hiawatha, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Hiawatha. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, conducted by Father Mark Ressler. Frederick is survived by his wife, Bev, of Hiawatha; children, Kirk's wife, Linda, and their children, Kelly (Jason) Balzek and Kasey Krumm, all from Cedar Rapids, Ty (Deb) Krumm and their children, Andraya and Lucas Krumm, all from Cedar Rapids, and Troy (Rhonda) and their children, Katie (Bruce) Johnson and Molly Krumm, all from Lexington, Ky.; sisters, Betty Kessler and Beverly Carnahan of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Kirk; parents; sister, Bonnie; and brother, Don Krumm. Fred was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Fred and Viola "Vi" (Dyson) Krumm. He served in Korea in the U.S. Navy on the USS Rochester as a second class gunners mate. Fred and Bev were united in marriage in 1954 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary on Sept. 25, 2016. He worked at Rexco for 32 years as a service manager until he retired. Fred enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing on his boat, hunting and traveling with Bev. Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
