Washington High School alumni and students plan to throw a large rally under the arcade at the school at 4 p.m. today in support of Dr. Ralph Plagman, who announced his retirement suddenly Tuesday.
After 35 years of leading Washington High School - and nearly a half year after his office initially let a substitute teacher remain working there amid rumors she had an inappropriate relationship with a student - Plagman, 72, said Tuesday he was asked to resign. His last official day on the job is today.
An online petition urging superintendent Brad Buck to rehire Plagman had more than 2,600 signatures late Tuesday.
