Etscheidt, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Etscheidt, 72, of Cedar Rapids died Dec. 26, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with the Rev. Donald Klein officiating. Friends may call today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m., with a vigil service starting at 6 p.m. Entombment: Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include her three sons, Bob (JoLynne) of Iowa City, Don of Cedar Rapids and Bill J. (Tammy) of Newhall; brothers, Norman (Dorothy) Delphey of Harpers Ferry, Richard (Mary Kay) Delphey of Harpers Ferry and Fred (Jeanene) Delphey of Waukon; sisters, Diana (Duane) Engel of Tipp City, Ohio and Pam Delphey (Tom Gayther) of Waukon; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Jonathan, Amber and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Julie; and triplet granddaughters, Kate, Emily and Sara.
Mary Ann Delphey was born Dec. 9, 1937, in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Patricia (Cavanaugh) Delphey. She married William C. Etscheidt on Aug. 22, 1959, in Harpers Ferry. Mary Ann worked at Rockwell-Collins, operated an in-home day care for many years and most recently worked at K's Merchandise until it closed. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Tuesday morning Joy Group. She enjoyed gardening, collecting dolls, volunteering at St. Pius and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all.
