Margaret A. Anderson, 100, of North Liberty, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at the Solon Care Center following a long illness. A Celebration of Life will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon. A time for food and fellowship will follow the services.
Margaret Alice was born in rural Johnson County on Aug. 28, 1915, the daughter of John Henry and Mary "Cecil" Sellers Ferguson. She married Zell Howard Anderson on July 12, 1941, in Columbia, Mo. She spent her life caring for her family on the farm near North Liberty. In her later years, she enjoyed wintering in Florida and Texas with her husband. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was a great joy for Margaret.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Paul H. (Peg) of North Liberty, Randall J. of Marion and Roy Z. (Jeanne) Anderson of North Liberty; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Zell (1992); and brothers, Jim, Harry "Wally," John Jr. "Pinky" and Roy "Merle" Ferguson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
