DAVENPORT – An Iowa City man was sentenced in U.S. District Court Friday to 15 years and 9 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
A multi-agency investigation in the summer of 2010 identified Jeffrey Brown, 28, as a member of a trafficking ring that was dealing large amounts of crack to the southeast section of Iowa City. An informant lead undercover officers to Brown, and the officers purchased drugs from Brown over several months, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
The U.S. Attorney's office said that Brown had sold 18 grams of crack cocaine during the investigation.
Six counts of Distribution of Cocaine Base were dismissed against Brown under a plea agreement he accepted in May.
