Slick, Clarice Joy
Clarice Joy Slick, 44, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A traditional graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Morgan Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Myron Wanatee as speaker. A Native American Church Service will be held this evening at the Myron Wanatee residence on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.
Clarice was born on Oct. 15, 1965, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur and Eloise (Rave) Slick. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. She then attended Wartburg College in Waverly for two years. Clarice then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served her country from 1986 until 1990. After her time in the Air Force, Clarice was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration and worked out of The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids, as well as other airports in the area. In her free time, she enjoyed taking care of her dogs, going on walks, playing softball, watching movies and photography
Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Paul Owen Slick and Brian Kent Slick.
Survivors include her siblings, Steven (Pat) Slick of Waterloo, Gary (Michelle) Slick of Cedar Rapids, Lenora Slick of Waterloo, and Duane Slick of Providence, R.I.; a maternal aunt, Patty Madson of Winnebago, Neb.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is handling the arrangements.
