Bearinger, Iola
Iola Bearinger, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the United Methodist Church in Anamosa. The Rev. Laurie Riley will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Milroy; her husband, Paul in November 1983; an infant son, Glen; a sister, Fern Shaw; and brother, Dean Milroy.
Iola Bearinger was born July 27, 1917, in Monticello, Iowa. She was a graduate of Monticello High School. Iola married Paul Bearinger in 1945 in Monticello. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anamosa for more than 25 years and of the Royal Neighbors. She was known by the youth at church as “church grandma.” Iola delivered Meals on Wheels in Anamosa for many years.
Iola loved her family and friends and will be missed greatly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Anamosa or donor's choice.
