Shirley Jeanette (nee Like) Hollingshead, 94, of Monroe, Ohio, died Sunday, July 6, 2014.
She was born to Henry Edison and Lillian Mae (nee Weeks) Like on July 25, 1919, in Cherokee, Iowa. Shirley was very active in the Presbyterian women's activities, the AAUW and was an avid bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard K. Hollings-head; and one sister, Betty Harapot.
Shirley is survived by her three sons, Larry L. (Lynne) Hollingshead of Lebanon, Ohio, Mark A. (Donna) Hollingshead of St. Peters, Mo., and Paul C. Hollingshead of Longmont, Colo.; one daughter, Margaret A. Hollingshead of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; 10 grandchildren and five great-grand-children.
A memorial service for Shirley and Howard K. Hollingshead Jr., her husband of 70 years, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.
