Roger Alfred La Flamme, 81, of Statesville, N.C., died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.
Mr. La Flamme was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Ware, Mass., and was the son of the late Homer and Albina Martineau La Flamme. He was a graduate of Sanford High School in Maine and served in the U.S. Navy and National Guard during the Korean War for eight years. On March 13, 1958, he was married to the late Sara Coe La Flamme and was retired from General Dynamics Electric Boat.
Mr. La Flamme is survived by one daughter, Gini Carter (Anthony) of Southport, N.C.; one son, Roger S. La Flamme (Michelle) of Cleveland, N.C.; grandchildren, Joshua Brodeur (Emily) of Springville, Iowa, and Sara "Cati" Wofford of Wilmington, N.C.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 14, in the VA National Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C., with full military rites.
