Tresnak, George M.
George M. Tresnak, 83, of Elburn, Ill., formerly of Streamwood, Ill., died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Presence Pine View Care Center, St. Charles, Ill.
He was born July 10, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
George was an Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. Before his retirement he was employed by Sprint Telephone Co. in the Des Plains area. He also was a member of the Streamwood AMVETS. He was a big sports fan especially the Iowa Hawkeys, Chicago Cubs and Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and beloved dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene; three children, Judy (Rodney) Kuzera of Bartlett, Ill., Philip (Kim) Tresnak of Baily, Colo., and Michelle (Kevin) Meech of Hampshire, Ill.; five grandchildren, Anthony, Scott, Pam, Steven and Bethany; a great-grandchild, Gianna; a sister, Carolyn Rosenberger; and a brother, Paul Tresnak.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Tresnak.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Galls Catholic Church, Elburn. The Rev. Timothy Siegle officiating. Burial will be at St. Gall Cemetery, Elburn. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Rte 38), Geneva, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Presence Pine View Care Center St. Charles.
