Harman, Rebecca L. 'Becky'
Rebecca L. “Becky” Harman, 27, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, after living courageously with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome for many years. Funeral Mass:
9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church by the Rev. Chris Podhajsky. Burial: Fairfax Cemetery. Friends may celebrate her life with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home. Friends may also visit at the church after 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Becky is survived by her parents, Spear and Leanne Harman; and sister, Melissa (Josh) Oberembt, all of Cedar Rapids; brother, Tim (Holly) Frein-Harman of Waterloo; paternal grandmother, Mary K. Harman and maternal grandmother, Marlys Nelson, both of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Colton, Christopher, Brooklyn and Baby “K”; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Becky was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Alvin L. Harman and Richard Nelson; aunt, Kathy Nelson; uncle, Lauren Harman; niece, Skyler Grace; and friend, A.P.
Rebecca Lea Harman was born May 16, 1986, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Spear and Leanne (Nelson) Harman. She graduated from Metro High School in 2004 and attended Kirkwood Community College for some time. She was employed at Nordstrom Direct for several years. Becky was a longtime volunteer for Circle of Ash. She had a loving heart and cared for everyone.
