Turner, Allene G.
Allene G. Turner, 85, of 3110 Sue Lane NW, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis; a son, Richard of Maryland; and two daughters, Cathy (Dan) Trumm of Central City, and Luellen Turner of Cedar Rapids.
She is also survived by two grandchildren, Matt and Lina Trumm.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Allene was born on May 28, 1925, in Mechanicsville, the daughter of George and Bessie Robinson Fisher. She married Lewis W. Turner on April 9, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. Allene worked at the Iowa Drivers License Bureau and retired from there after many years of service. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Allene was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a real home body who loved the time she spent with her beloved family and many friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Allene's name.
