Mearl B. Slate, 89, of Marshalltown, died Oct. 26, 2009, at Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 101 South Center St., Marshalltown. Burial will be in Badger Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown.
