Mitchell, Ronald Dean

Ronald Dean Mitchell, 44, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with the Rev. W. Bramwell Harnish presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today and one hour before services Monday at the chapel.

Ron was born Oct. 8, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lee and Beverly (Butterfield) Mitchell. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1985. Ron worked at Square D for over 26 years. He enjoyed snow and water skiing, boating and watching NASCAR.

Ron was a loving and caring father to his children. He will be greatly missed.

Ron is survived by his children, Derek and Skylar Mitchell; his parents, Lee and Bev Mitchell; a brother, Jeff (Angie) Mitchell; a sister, Wendy (Mike) Daugherty; a nephew, Nick, and a niece, Sarah Daugherty.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A memorial fund will be established in his name for his children, Derek and Skylar.
