High-speed chases have to stop

To the editor:
Who is really guilty of killing the wonderful man Stephen Cook? The man who ran from the police or the police for chasing at a high-speed because the driver had a registration violation?
This tells me they had the man's name, his address, and everything they need to go to his house.
Why would they give into a high-speed chase resulting in killing a respectful citizen? This has got to stop. It is needless and dangerous for innocent citizens and for the police.
