Edith May was born May 30, 1920, in Belgrade, Minn., to Scott and Sophia Lange Kramer. She was blessed with three children, John, Sharon and Judith. Sally had worked at Collins Radio and Standard Appliance and retired as manager of the Sears Service Department in Cedar Rapids. She was married to the love of her life, Leslie Nace on Oct. 24, 1964, in Iowa City. They spent 18 years together before he passed away in 1982.
Sally and Les loved to go flying and flew to most every state in the United States, going to fly-ins almost every weekend. Sally told her children many stories about living through the Great Depression. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, always looking forward to spending time with them.
In August 2005, Sally moved to Promise City to be with her daughter, Sharon and son-in-law, Kenny. Her adjustment to isolated rural living was difficult after more than 60 years in the Cedar Rapids area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; her parents; a sister, Lucille Shatto; and her children's father, John Carbee.
Sally will be greatly missed by her adoring pug, Murphy.
She also will be missed by her children, John (Carolyn) Carbee of Palm Bay, Fla., Sharon (Kenny) Kline of Promise City, and Judith (Guy) Bishop of Kennewick, Wash.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ruth (Marvin) Ericson of Columbia Heights, Minn.; and Ray Owen of Central City, former husband and longtime friend.
