Kroemer, Elfrieda
Elfrieda Kroemer, 90, of Lowden, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, by the Rev. Victor Young. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 3, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Survivors include a son, Leon (Karen) of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Sherril Kroemer of Clinton; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Laura) Kroemer, Jodi (Kirk) Jonasson, Michael (D'Anne) Kroemer and Kristen (Greg) Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Hannah Jonasson, Luke Jonasson and Joseph Jonasson; sister, Erna Brendes of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Veneta Kroemer of Clarence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth; husband, Norman; brother, Henry; and two sisters, Betty Kleppe and Helen Kline Hansel.
Born Dec. 12, 1921, in Germany, she was the daughter of Heinrich and Alvine (Braasch) Horstmann. She married Norman Kroemer on Dec. 10, 1939, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. He died in 2005.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in LWML.
