Letter: Keep daylight saving time in Iowa

I'm a big fan of daylight saving time.
The article discussing lawmakers efforts to eliminate the summer switch stated that the 'minuses may outweigh the pluses right now” for daylight saving time ('If they could turn back time, some lawmakers would,” Feb. 2).
The only negative mentioned was that some people may experience health problems due to the twice-a-year change in the time. Everyone always mentions that fact that the sun will set at around 7:30 p.m. in June on Standard Time. Not many point out that the sun will rise at 4:30 a.m. in June on Standard Time.
These both seem like highly undesirable effects to me. It seems that there could be health effects to the sun coming up at 4:30 a.m. on people whose work day starts at 9 a.m.
