Kasey, Shirley A.
Shirley A. Kasey, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital. A memorial gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with a Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; daughter, Tona Hepker (Steve) of Cedar Rapids; son, Scott Kasey of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina Kasey; sister, Maxine Monroe (Donald) of Macon, Ga.; and brother-in-law, Marvin Krehbiel of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Shirley Ann Warnock was born July 12, 1938, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Ralph and Addie (Forbes) Warnock. She married Elmer Kasey on June 7, 1963, in Cedar Rapids. Shirley worked for many years in the Cedar Rapids Community School District as a cook.
