Hatfield, Theola E.
Theola E. Hatfield, 97, of 1914 Bever Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, after a long illness. Private graveside services on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Per Theola's request there will be no public visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice (James) Hepker of Cedar Rapids; an adopted daughter, Jenny (Don) Berger of Fairfax, five grandchildren, Jeff and Jeri Henderson, Kim Doolin, Zeke (Bree) and Jeremy (Tiaria) Hepker; 14 great-grandchildren, Tony, Brad, Jason, Josh (Nicole), Jonathan, Jordan, Kayle, Buddy, Marissa, Zach, Levi, Ethan, Noah and Tasia; and three great-great-grandchildren, Dakota, Bradlee, Rebecca and one due June 10, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stanley Rose; a sister, Lucille Lockhart; and a great-great-grandchild, Odin.
Theola was born on April 13, 1913, in Iowa County, the daughter of Arthur and Jennie Napier Rose. She worked as a housekeeper for several local families for many years. Theola was a member of the Walford United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, working cross word puzzles and especially the time she shared with her beloved family.
A memorial fund has been established.
