Eilers, Rosella J.
Rosella J. Eilers, 95, died Sunday morning, August 7, 2011, at Northbrook Manor Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home. Father Keith Birch will officiate at the services.

Surviving are seven children, Darlene (Wayne) Edgington, Marion, Phyllis (Gene) Story, Wanda Harris, Vickie Eilers, all of Cedar Rapids, Willie (Margie) Eilers, Anamosa, Diane Hobson, Nevada, and Deb Eilers, Ames, 19 grandchildren; many great and great- great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Dale Wink, Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur on Nov. 7, 1981; a granddaughter, Cindy; four brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Herbert Harris.
Rosella J. Picray was born August 4, 1916, at Monango, N.D. She was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Hanson Picray. She received her education in the rural schools near Temple Hill. Rosella married Arthur Eilers on Oct. 29, 1934, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple farmed in the Monticello area. They moved to Monticello in 1976 and Rose worked at the Senior Home for nine years retiring in 1987. Her health caused her to move to Higley Mansion Care Center in 2004 and then to Northbrook Manor in 2007.
