Hansen, Bryon E.
Bryon E. Hansen, 68, of Rochester, was born Dec. 29, 1943, and lost his battle with cancer on Oct. 19, 2011, at the Iowa City VA Health Care System.
Bryon served in Korea and Vietnam and was wounded in Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his mother, Delores Hansen of Rochester; sisters, Vicky Latham and Carrie Espinoza of Iowa City; his nieces, Cheryl Revelez and Tammy Allen; nephews, Ron Latham, Jamie Mayfield and Lionel Gatto; son, Tim Hansen of Clinton; and special friend, Maxine Miller.
Bryon will receive military graveside rites on Monday, Oct. 24, at 11:30 a.m. at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at the Tipton VFW at a later date.
