Griffin, Annie G.
Annie G. Griffin, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at her home. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Grace Episcopal Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Alice Haugen. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Edith (Butch) Klase of Valdosta, Ga., William (Linda) Griffin Jr. of Cedar Rapids, George Griffin and former daughter-in-law, Nancy of Charleston, S.C., Michael Griffin of Cedar Rapids and Lester (Vickie) Griffin of Charleston; 10 grandchildren, Robert Klase of Valdosta, Ga., Melissa Griffin of Cedar Rapids, Jodie Griffin, Kellie Hall, Michael W.T. Griffin, Shannon Griffin, Chris Griffin, Casey Griffin, all of Charleston, David Griffin of Cedar Rapids and Jamie Griffin Staggs of Waco, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Herbert; and sister, Mary Grisham.
Annie was born April 8, 1927, the daughter of George and Annie (Baldwin) Geyer, in Chicago. On March 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to William Griffin Sr. He died May 8, 1984. Annie retired as a legal secretary. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, VFW Post 788 and The Eastern Star.
