Lasack, Wilma J.
Wilma J. Lasack, 92, of Oxford Junction, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Clarence Nursing Home, Clarence, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until the service time. The Rev. Keith Larson will officiate. Lahey Funeral & Cremation Services in Oxford Junction is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa.
Wilma Justina Bahnsen was born June 29, 1919, in Hayfield, Minn., to Peter and Louise (Eggert) Bahnsen. She attended and graduated from Wyoming school in 1937. She and Vince Lasack Jr. were married on Nov. 24, 1938, in Maquoketa, Iowa. They farmed their entire married life on the Lasack family farm in rural Oxford Junction. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Nov. 20, 1988. Vince died on April 26, 1995.
She was known to have raised thousands of capons and her love for baking, especially breads and of course her grandkid's favorite, kolaches, as well as the joy of playing cards. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #473.
Surviving are her two sons, Lynn (Anita) Lasack of Oxford Junction and Duane (Terry) Lasack of Lowden; six grandchildren, Scott, Ryan, Brad, Jill, Chad and Kristi; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, LaVonne (Glen) Miller of Maquoketa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vince; three sisters; and two brothers.
Wilma died at the Clarence Nursing Home where she has resided since December 2009.
Memorials are preferred.
