Lear, Pearl Marie
Pearl Marie Lear, 94, of Cedar Rapids, was called home by our Lord on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Teahen Funeral Home, by Chaplain Joe Peters. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pearl is survived by two children, Bruce (Jo) of Sioux City and Ann (Joel) Kessler of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Matt Kessler, Sarah (Matt) Deutsch, Drew Kessler, Megan (Philip) Windeshausen and Ethan Lear; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jensen and Miller Deutsch, Alexis Kessler, and Paige and Parker Windeshausen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon J. Lear on Oct. 7, 2001; four sisters and two brothers.
Pearl was born May 6, 1918, in Benton County, the daughter of John and Martha (Steinford) Thede. She married Eldon J. Lear on Oct. 16, 1938, in Waterloo. She was a graduate of Keystone High School. She retired from the Shellsburg School District and was a member of Grace Trinity Church in Shellsburg.
Pearl was very active in various organizations in her church. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Happy 20 Club.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
