The Big Ten went 9-3 in nonconference football games Saturday. But it went 4-8 against the point spread in those games.
Here are some more numbers from Week 3, with at least one for each Big Ten team:
- After allowing 10 quarterback sacks in its opening-game loss at Temple, Penn State hasn't allowed a single sack in its last two contests.

- Iowa's Dillon Kidd leads the Big Ten in punting (49.8-yard average). Matt VandeBerg leads the league in receptions (22). The Hawkeyes are first in the conference and fifth nationally in rushing defense with 51 yards allowed per game.

The Big Ten has the top two teams in the Associated Press Top 25 (Ohio State, Michigan State) for the first time since 2006.

Minnesota averaged just 2.4 yards per rush (44 carries, 104 yards) in its 10-7 win over Kent State.
