Staton, Marvin L.
Marvin L. Staton, 83, of Oelwein, died July 19, 2013, at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6 p.m. and a Parish Scripture service at 7 p.m., all at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Military graveside rites by Oelwein American Legion Ross Reid Post 9. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
A memorial fund has been established for Korean War Veterans.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Ruth Staton of Oelwein; two daughters, Debra Vanderwerf of Prairie Village, Kan., and Cheryl (Ed) Glenn of Independence, Mo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
