David Lee Fry, 57, died Monday, June 30, 2014, during a weather-related accident. Visitation will be Monday, July 7, at Teahen Funeral Home, 3100 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a rosary by Knights of Columbus Council 11942 at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also visit at St. John XXIII Catholic Church after 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 8. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, by the Rev. Philip Thompson. Burial: St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fairfax.
David was born Aug. 17,, 1956, in Victorville, Calif., the son of Earl and Norma (Hemphill) Fry. He married Theresa (Gruenloh) Fry on Oct. 2, 1992. Their children are Joseph (Teri) Fry of Evansdale, Gregory (Tonya) Fry of North Liberty and Erica Fry and Derek Fry of Cedar Rapids.
David was employed by Intermec by Honeywell for 37 years as an EMC engineer. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed shooting pool, riding his motorcycle and traveling.
David is survived by his wife; children; two grandchildren; his parents; two brothers, Richard (Sharon) Fry of Ladora and Danny Fry of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
