Tiffany Denise Schmitt, 28, of Homer, Neb., passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, from injuries suffered in an auto accident near Homer. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Alan Wicks will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, Sioux City.
Tiffany was born May 22, 1985, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Dan and Tami (Allison) Schmitt. Tiffany graduated from North High School in 2003. Tiffany was employed at Homer Community Schools and also worked part time at Pronto Convenience Store in Homer. She was attending college at Northeast Community
College.
Tiffany loved with all her heart. She loved sports, competing in high school softball and track. She was a Cubs and Hawkeyes fanatic. Tiffany was also an avid reader. She loved camping with her siblings and she relished gatherings at Jeremiah's with friends and family. She liked riding above the traffic in her truck. She loved children and was working to become a teacher. Most of all Tiffany loved being TT, the best aunt and
big sister.
Tiffany is survived by her mother, Tami (Rich) Abernethy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her father, Dan (Deanna) Schmitt of Dakota City, Neb.; her stepfather, Jim (Lori) Schommer of Birmingham, Ala.; her sisters, Kassandra Schmitt of Homer, Neb., and Kaitlin Fehl of Sioux City; her brothers, Jeremiah Schmitt of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Jonah Schmitt of Dakota City, Neb., and Taylor Forsling of Las Vegas, Nev.; her maternal grandfather, Harlan "Lee" Allison of Waterbury, Neb.; her maternal grandmother, Doreen Allison of Sioux City; her maternal grandfather, Rick Borg of Sioux City; her maternal grandmother, Barbara Dale Borg of Fairfax, Va.; her paternal grandparents, Barb and Dave Treglia of Sioux City; and seven nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Al and Maxine Allison, Martha and George Larvick, Fred and Bernice Grosenheider and Cornelius and Ardis Schmitt; and a nephew, baby William Fehl.
