Nemecek, Richard Charles
Richard Charles Nemecek, 85, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died May 18, 2010, at Royal Park Care Center in Spokane, Wash. Services will be Thursday, May 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the chapel. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Richard was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Chester A. Nemecek and Barbara D. (Spina) Nemecek (Benda).
Richard is survived by his loving companion and wife, Joan V. Nemecek; son, Richard L. Nemecek (Debbie); daughter, Cathy L. Emerson (Rick); grandsons, Eric Richard Emerson (Alysia) and Michael Robert Emerson of Spokane; and granddaughter, Amanda Nemecek of Monrovia, Calif. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Dyson (Max) of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; and sister, Rosemary Mischek.
