Stahl, Judith
Judith Stahl, 66, of Lansing, was taken home to be with her loving Father on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. She passed away at Mayo Clinic Franciscan Healthcare - La Crosse.
Judy was born on Feb. 27, 1945, in Waukon, Iowa, to Chester and Anna (Kernan) Farley. She lived with her family on the farm in the Wexford and Harpers Ferry area. Later her family moved to Lansing, where she attended school. Upon graduation from St. George High School, she went to work at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. On Aug. 22, 1964, she married George Stahl at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing.
Judy lived in Iowa City most of her married life. She worked for the school system in Coralville and did child care in her home when her son was small and then later worked for the Iowa City Press Citizen before starting at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where she worked in the Human Resource Department. After her and her husband retired, they built a new home in Lansing where she enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with her relatives.
Judy is survived by her husband, George; son, Michael; grandson, Benjamin of Iowa City; sisters, Janet Farley of Cedar Rapids, and Jean Yeoman of Lansing; brother, Don (Barb) Farley of Dewitt; sisters-in-law, Beverly Farley of Lansing, Loretta Strong of Lansing, and Alice Strong of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, Everett (Jean) Stahl of Lansing, Allan (Mabel) Stahl of Lansing, Jerry (Karen) Mathis of Harpers Ferry, Gary Stahl of Lansing, Lester (Betty) Stahl of Waukon, and Bob (Harriet) Stahl of Ham Lake, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Anna Farley; her brothers, James and Jerry Farley; brother-in-law, Elmer Yeoman; and sister-in-law, Ruth Farley.
Friends and Family are invited to a memorial mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing, with burial immediately following at the Gethsemane Cemetery, also in Lansing. After interment, a dinner will follow in the basement on the Immaculate Conception Church.
