Dunlap, Dean
Dean Dunlap, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Memorial Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Jim Parton. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, Doug Dunlap and wife Sandra of Washington, Iowa; three nephews, Bradley Dunlap and wife Stephanie of Coralville, Brian Dunlap of Fairfield and Brent Dunlap and wife Jill of Tinley Park, Ill.; a great-nephew, Owen; seven great-nieces, Jillian, Natalie, Emma, Anna, Brenna, Moira and Margaret; and special friend, Shirley Grulke of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Helen (Hanna) Dunlap.
Dean was born May 29, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Chester and Helen (Hanna) Dunlap. Dean was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Cedar Rapids and received a higher accounting and automation degree from AIB in Des Moines and took additional courses at Drake University. He served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. Dean retired from Kirkwood Community College after 31 years of employment, most recently vice president of Administrative Services.
