Youkey, Joseph 'Harold'
Joseph “Harold” Youkey, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Legacy Gardens in Iowa City. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today at Brosh Chapel.
Joseph was born Dec. 28, 1925, in West Liberty, the son of Joseph and Elsie (Amrine) Youkey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army's 141st Infantry from May 8, 1944 to May 31, 1946, where he received two bronze stars. Harold married Marjorie Klein on Sept. 24, 1946, in Iowa City. He retired as a Building Inspector for the City of Cedar Rapids in 1991.
Harold is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marjorie.
