Yauslin, Donald G.
Donald G. Yauslin, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his home. Services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim (Louie) Moran of Cedar Rapids and Dawn Sullivan of Indiana; a son, Darin of Alburnett; two sisters, Lois and Dorothy; four brothers, Johnny, Les, Roger and Dick; five grandchildren, Matt, Kendra, Jade, Katelyn and Kelsey; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jenna, Logen and Jenessa; and a special friend, Donna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet; and a sister, Betty.
Don was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Clermont, the son of Byron and Ruby Hader Yauslin. He married Janet M. Gordon on Sept. 30, 1956, in Nashua. Janet passed away in 1996.
Don worked at Rockwell Collins as a supervisor and retired from there after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the Marion American Legion Post No. 298 and proudly served in the Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, golf, travel and time spent with family, especially with his grandchildren. Don was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
