Elizabeth Marie (Orton) Kasner, 85, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, from a sudden illness.
She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Viola Frances Nevins and James R. Orton. She married William M. Kasner on May 3, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1987.
Her survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Ron) Fuller of Des Moines; son, William J. Kasner of Cedar Rapids; and daughter, Penny (John) Barry of Decatur, Ill. She also is survived by a sister, Pat Carder of Cedar Rapids; a brother, James (Darlene) Orton of Salinas, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Barb Orton; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three children, Jerry Allen Kasner, Patricia Ann Kasner and Mary Ann Domine; a brother, William Orton; and son-in-law, Lauren E. Harman.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
