CONTEST: Name the Tennessee Tech-Iowa game, win an America Needs Farmers T-shirt
Mike Hlas Aug. 15, 2011 11:00 am
Your Tweet replies won't get it done. The ONLY way to win is via a submission in the comments section here.
Now let's backtrack. To win the America Needs Farmers T-shirt pictured above (front) and below (back), give me a name for the Sept. 3 Tennessee Tech-Iowa football game.
My own suggestion is the Foregone Conclusion. It doesn't roll off the tongue, does it?
It seems almost every other Hawkeyes game has a name or a color scheme or a trophy. Well, why not Tennessee Tech-Iowa? Other than the fact TTU is this year's designated FCS victim for the Hawkeyes. (Don't throw the 2009 UNI-Iowa game at me. We all remember it. I don't diss the Panthers. Tennessee Tech isn't the Panthers.)
Give me a name, something funny or snarky or touching or magical. I'm looking for funny, but if you can come up with touching or magical, I will have unearthed something bigger than a contest-winner.
I will pick the name that tickles me the most, and if I really like it, I will use it in Hlog posts and columns in the lead-up to the TTU-UI game.
RULES:
1. I'll say it again. The only way to win is via a submission in the comments section here. The deadline is Friday, Aug. 19 at noon, Central time. If you aren't registered to use the comments, register. It's not that difficult. If it is, shoot me an e-mail at mike.hlas@sourcemedia.net and we'll get it resolved.
2. Just one submission per person. If you can't decide between your own multiple ideas, I sure can't.
3. If I can't decide, I reserve the right to take some of the best submissions and put them up for a vote from you, the people.
4. The T-shirt is a large. No complaining if that isn't your size. It's a T-shirt, not haute couture.
5. The winning entry won't be vulgar, will make almost surely make me giggle, and won't have more than five words. You can work blue if you want, but you won't add to your T-shirt collection if you do.
6. SourceMedia employees are not eligible. For this contest, anyway.
7. There is no No. 7.
8. I really dislike those Burger King "Sharing means caring and caring means sharing" commercials.
