For the last 11 years it has been my pleasure to know and work alongside Marty Hoeger. I have seen him operate in a wide variety of roles - husband, father, LIVESTRONG leader, fundraiser, family man and community advocate.
I met Hoeger 11 years ago. First and foremost, he is all about family and anyone blessed enough to be close to him feels very much a part of his family. He believes in working hard, takes immense pride in his community and is fiercely loyal to friends and loved ones.
He joined Team LIVESTRONG 11 years ago to ride 400 miles across Iowa (RAGBRAI) as a way to raise money to help fight for those suffering with cancer (his son Jack was diagnosed with cancer two years earlier). He has been back every year since and has raised more than $150,000 for families battling through cancer. Among others, he also has been a generous supporter of the American Cancer Society and Cedar Rapids YMCA.
He is not a big fan of the spotlight. He would rather let his actions speak for themselves. And he is the last person who needs a red carpet rolled out for him.
Hoeger is as Midwest as they come. Nothing is above or below him; he is always willing to pitch in when friends, neighbors, or the community need help. He is truly selfless and outward thinking.
He is a proven leader with pure core value and would be a great leader in your community.
