Letter: Respect others’ opinions, and vote

I am saddened to see what these past few months have done to us as a country. We are no longer the United States of America - we are the Divided States of America. I have seen arguments between family and friends arguing not so much as to whose candidate is the better choice for president, but rather why the other candidate is the worst of the two.
We all need to remember that we, the people, chose these candidates when we had our caucuses, and as it should be, the majority won. Soon we will have a new president - hopefully chosen by the majority of the voters. Many of us will be unhappy with the outcome, but it is our civic duty, if not to respect the result, to at least respect the office of the president of the United States. In four years we will have the opportunity to start over again.
If you have not already done so, please vote. And please - respect the opinions of others. Let us not forget that 'United we Stand, Divided we Fall.”
