Trinder, Doris R. (Currier)
Doris R. (Currier) Trinder, 84, of 1217 Sixth St. NW, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor Darrin Whiting, chaplain with Hospice of Mercy, will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving, to honor her memory, are her children, Linda Curtis, Jackie (Russell) Lewis, Darla (Chuck) Gunderson, Lorie High and Sandra Chambers, all of Cedar Rapids, and Gary (Janis) High of Phoenix; 15 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Lila Strait; and one great-grandson.
Doris was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, to Leo and Rosamond Carson Currier. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. She married James E. Trinder Jr. on Dec. 11, 1958, at Rock Island, Ill. He died in 1991. She was a lifelong cook and retired from Country Kitchen.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
