Enus Myron Nohre was born June 18, 1924, in Holt, Minn., the son of Melvin and Inga (Olson) Nohre. After graduating from high school in Minnesota, he served in the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II. After the war, he attended the University of New Hampshire. On Dec. 31, 1948, he married Joan Rude at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Enus worked at Pennick & Ford in Cedar Rapids for many years. He loved the Cubs, and especially former 3rd baseman and most recently radio color analyst, Ron Santo. He also loved kids and spent hours playing with his great-grandchildren, chasing and being chased around the “loop” at Grandma's house - well into his 80s, developing many friendships with employees and gamblers alike at Tama. Enus was proud of his 100 percent Norwegian heritage, family vacations, enjoyed playing pinochle and cribbage with his brothers.
