Thank you to ‘fellow Cedar Rapidian’
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Last month, I submitted a letter commenting on the City of Cedar Rapids buying out the Knutson Metal Co. I addressed the fact that the city was paying $1.5 million for a property valued at $136,897 because of “financial consideration” from the closing of the business. My point was that many other businesses had to close after the 2008 flood without such “financial consideration” from the city.
Much to my surprise, about a week later I received an anonymous card in the mail from a “fellow Cedar Rapidian” who agreed with my comments. Not only did a total stranger take the time to write in support of my views, this person was extremely generous to me, without any chance of receiving a thank you or any recognition for their deed.
I just wanted you all to know there really are kind and generous people out there. In continuing the “fellow Cedar Rapidian's” generosity, know that Toys for Tots benefited from you as well.
