STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Some salient comments from some of the many Iowa football players who contributed to the Hawkeyes' 21-10 win at Penn State Saturday night:
Defensive end Adrian Clayborn, who blocked a punt and returned it for a fourth-quarter touchdown: "Me, I'm still soaking it in. That's a huge win for our team, the state of Iowa, and everybody that was involved in it. We're enjoying it, we're just real shocked that we pulled it off."
He said his last touchdown was as a high school tight end: "That was 40 pounds ago."
Defensive tackle Karl Klug on Clayborn's blocked punt: "Amazing. And we didn't even have a block called. I heard the sound (of the block). The next thing I knew, he was running in the end zone."
Punter Ryan Donahue: "If I saw Adrian coming after me, I'd be very scared."
Linebacker Pat Angerer, who had an interception: "This game feels a little better than the last one (Iowa's 24-23 win over Penn State last year). In the last one I got my ass kicked."
Offensive guard Dace Richardson: "Adam Robinson, he ran his heart out. Our defnese played its heart out. It was a tremendous battle. 91 and 85 (Penn State defensive tackles Jared Odrick and Ollie Ogbu) put us on our heels."
Quarterback Ricky Stanzi: "We've got players who can make plays in certain situations that are very unique."
"Our offensive line and (Robinson) carried us in the third and fourth quarter."
Cornerback Amari Spievey on getting beaten for a touchdown by Penn State receiver Chaz Powell on PSU's first play on offense: "My teammates told me to just forget about it. But it kind of motivated me at the same time. I guess it happened for a reason."
